Shifting to my new place in Yishun Ave 6 (so fun to Google Earth it) sometime at the end of the year (earliest earliest September).
Was wondering if you guys know any wireless modem routers (wireless g is enough, no need for n unless range of g benefits as a result) with excellent RANGE. That way, it would simplify my network setup. Using a Linksys wireless-g now and something with better range would be good.
Any recommendations? _________________ IL2 - Flying meat

You can keep your old router and use one of these to extend the range of your network.
Also N is supposed to have greater range than G. What kind of a house is your new place? Ever considered a combination of Wireless Access Points and Power Line ethernet (if you're not worried about lightning going through the ground wire of your house's electrical system).

Option 1 : Cable your home (Best).
Option 2 : Buy a N router (should be 100+)
Option 3 : Buy the Linksys Range Extender (Recently bought 1 for 109) |

My new place is a maisonette, that's a two storey flat. Intend to put my modem/router in the room upstairs but still want access 1 level below.
Don't mind changing my modem/router by getting a new, N-certified (I know its longer range but not sure if only for n standard or it affects g standard too) one, hopefully with longer range than usual (maybe larger antenna by manufacturer or something). Then my old router becomes a spare (always useful to have).
I'll try to avoid using powerline extenders or other extenders. _________________ IL2 - Flying meat

You shouldn't have a problem with range, I have one G-type crappy 2wire AP in the far corner of my room and I can still get the signal downstairs in the diagonally opposite corner of the house. Worse come to worse, you can always upgrade the antenna and/or use a (wired) AP repeater at the stairwell. _________________ change: constant;
